May you rest in peace...

I am a voice from Jae's past. We were in our early teens in occupied Japan in the late 1940's. About twelve of us from the American School formed a group, attending parties, dances, movies, sightseeing outings, etc. around our foreign home. I remember Jae as one of the outstanding members of our group. Some of the names of his friends that I remember were Bruce Brenn, Rob Wadman, Delos Yancy, William Wood Buster. Eddie Scott, Kay Bogovich, Carol McNair, Janet Hill, Dolores Roskoph, and my maiden name was Sylvia Gaylor. I'm sorry to hear of Jae's passing. I'm glad to read that he had such a fulfilling life. Please accept my sincere condolences, Annie and your family. Terry Gorozdos

I was so sorry to read of Jae's death in the Washington Post this morning. We had lost touch of all of you in recent years! I have many fond memories of the days when the the boys were young. I remember how Ted loved his trips to Rehobeth with your family and the sad days that followed John's tragic death. My thoughts and prayers are with you, dear Annie and with your children. Love especially to Jim.

Annie--Bob and I were so saddened to learn that you and your family had lost Jae. Although we knew him very slightly, when Shelby told me about his condition a while back, it was hard to accept the truth of it. We would wish for you the strength to continue--remember the wonderful times that you had together. Our love to you and your family, Sydney and Bob Menger

Dear Annie and family, The Lagoon Commander has been one of my best friends for 14 years and the one I turned to when my Peter died. He was the host of the neighborhood and kept us all coming back for more 'Luigi' jokes, which we will all miss terribly. Jae was such a great patriot and spent so much of his life defending our freedom. I will always be greatful to him for his service to us all. What a wonderful friend he was. There is another hole in my heart now. My love and thoughts are with you at this sad time. Shelby
